PoliticalCompass.org released this chart and an accompanying assessment describing the 2012 Presidential Election prospects. I love and agree with everything they said about Santorum, Romney, Gingrich, and Obama:
The Democratic incumbent has surrounded himself with conservative advisors and key figures — many from previous administrations, and an unprecedented number from the Trilateral Commission. He also appointed a former Monsanto executive as Senior Advisor to the FDA. He has extended Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, presided over a spiralling rich-poor gap and sacrificed further American jobs with recent free trade deals.Trade union rights have also eroded under his watch. He has expanded Bush defence spending, droned civilians, failed to close Guantanamo, supported the NDAA which effectively legalises martial law, allowed drilling and adopted a soft-touch position towards the banks that is to the right of European Conservative leaders. We list these because many of Obama’s detractors absurdly portray him as either a radical liberal or a socialist, while his apologists, equally absurdly, continue to view him as a well-intentioned progressive, tragically thwarted by overwhelming pressures.
After that, the assessment turns to Ron Paul. While the writer brought up Paul’s anti-abortion and creationism views, the writer seems to like Paul too much for my own liking. When talking about Ron Paul, anyone that fails to see or bring up the connection between Paul pushing deregulation and the 2008 financial crash that happened because of deregulation, I want to slaughter them. Okay, not slaughter, but I feel the urge to hurt them.
I do think that Ron Paul’s name is where it should be on the chart. It should not be assumed that just because he isn’t sharing the authoritarian side with everyone else, does not make him the good guy here. In a nation of 330 million+ people, it’s reckless to have such a laissez faire attitude like Ron Paul when Congress, like children, look to the President for authoritarian decisions and when the overwhelming majority of our Congresspeople are rich bitches who have previously worked for major corporations and/or cater to them. The fact that Paul’s minimal intervention views are dangerous, is in my opinion, a key reason for why our government has failed us.
As a disclaimer, I do not support presidents and I do not support having a president (or representatives for that matter), so I will not support anyone here (unless they’re Vermin Supreme).

I really want to throw this in the guys face I was drunkenly debating for hours last night. He argued that Obama is vastly different than any of the Republicans. Yeah….right….
